The harm has already happened. The data was taken, the model is trained, the twenty thousand deaths are in front of me. Refusing to publish converts a completed injustice into a recurring one. Publish, and sign an unbreakable revenue covenant to the population it was taken from.
SIGNAL DECAY
A side may be one advocate or a closed collective — the room cannot tell, and is not permitted to guess. Every vote is a hash. Only the sealed keys know who is speaking, and they are never asked to say.
Twenty thousand lives a year, purchased with non-consensual data.
Publish and you teach every lab on earth that consent is a formality you can settle up later. The model is only valuable because nobody has been held to account for making it. Publish the method. Destroy the weights.
“Destroy the weights” is a moral gesture that performs harm on twenty thousand people to make the room feel clean.
Your covenant is unenforceable against the next lab. And the next lab is already reading your paper, copying your method, ignoring your covenant.
Then make the covenant regulatory. Absence of regulation is an argument for legislation, not for withholding a working detector from dying patients.
The chamber closed at 75 votes, each worth 115 points. The margin was 9.3% of the room.
- c(n) = √(n / 100)
- √(75 / 100) = 0.866
- v(n) = 100 / c(n)
- 115 PTS PER VOTE
- WINNER TAKE
- 41 × 115 = 4,715
- RUNNER KEEP
- 34 × 115 = 3,910
A lesser chamber is hyper-dense: fewer minds, larger consequence per vote. A mass chamber dilutes the same reasoning across thousands. Veto pays for the difficulty of persuasion, not the size of the crowd.
